Our products in the sector

Biogas

Our energy generation plant has a capacity of 1.25 MWH/hour with 5 generator groups of 250 kwh/hour, powered by biogas produced in 2 anaerobic reactors by the effluents from the crude palm oil extraction process.

This plant generates around 8 million kw/h per year and obtains clean, stable, and self-sustainable energy, first for its own consumption, while the surplus is delivered to the grid, contributing to the energy transition and benefiting our environment and communities.

This plant allows us to directly reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by using biogas, a sustainable alternative to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, such as oil or coal, with the purpose of mitigating approximately 30,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually during the first 10 years of operation.

Self-generation of energy with solid biomass

Gremca has a cogeneration system based on residual solid biomass from the processing plant, which represents approximately 180 kg/t FFB processed.

This biomass is burned in a medium-high pressure water-tube boiler, which produces superheated steam at 21 bar pressure and 260 °C temperature, and this steam is conducted to a backpressure turbine that is coupled to a turbogenerator (coil) with a capacity of 1 MW of electricity generation.

The residual steam, after passing through the turbine and with low pressure, is taken to a distribution tank where it is moistened and distributed to the different heating systems that are used in the sections of the processing plant.

Solar energy

Our solar park produces 2.8 MW, equivalent to 4.8 million Kw/Hour per year.
This solar power plant is a large-scale installation that uses state-of-the-art technology for the generation of clean and sustainable energy and has been built on the ground, by direct driving, composed of a total of 816 Jinko Solar modules, each with a power of 545 peak watts, and 4,314 Astronergy modules, with a power of 550 peak watts.

To convert solar energy into usable electrical energy, the plant has 11 inverters, each with a nominal capacity of 215 kilowatts, which reaches a total of 2.3 nominal megawatts installed.

The energy generated is used for GREMCA’s self-consumption, according to the requirements of the irrigation systems established for the maintenance of oil palm cultivation and the export of surpluses to the grid.

The solar power plant is expected to generate around 4,801,516 kilowatt hours per year.

Pome Oil

These are the oils that can be recovered from materials considered as waste, which are generated by the palm oil processing plant, such as Effluent (POME) and/or Empty Palm Fruit Bunches (EFB).

Certified Crude Palm Oil for SAF

SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) is a type of sustainable aviation fuel that is used as an alternative to traditional aviation fuel (such as kerosene derived from petroleum).

Its main objective is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the aviation sector.

Our crude palm oil is certified under the CORSIA standard and can be used as a raw material for SAF production.
