We received FSS (Food Security Standard) certification
At the XV Regional Dialogue of ISCC (International Sustainability Carbon Certification) for Latin American stakeholders, held on August 30, 2023, in the city of Bogotá (Colombia), we received the FSS (Food Security Standard) certification, whose purpose is to promote food security in agricultural value chains.
Food and nutritional security is the sufficient and stable availability of food, as well as the timely and permanent access and consumption of food in quantity, quality and safety by all people, under conditions that allow its proper biological use to lead a healthy and active life (CONPES 113, 2008).
The international certification for food security FSS represents a significant step towards fulfilling the company’s vision and strategic objectives, framed in sustainability and efficiency in the development of our operations.
Similarly, being certified in this standard allows us to contribute as an organization and as a private sector to the achievement of the second Sustainable Development Goal, Zero Hunger, at the level of production of global agricultural chains, taking into account the global food crisis and the increase in the number of people affected by hunger, which has grown by approximately 150 million in the last two years.
With this recognition, we demonstrate, once again, our commitment to the sustainability of the sector and the social responsibility with our collaborators and with the communities of the municipalities of Algarrobo and El Copey.
We are proud to be the first in the world to obtain this important certification.
We thank the entire team of collaborators, farmers and managers for their performance and effort to achieve the goals that we set ourselves every day within the framework of the sustainability action plan.
We are GREMCA S.A., Sustainable Agriculture and Energy.
