Gremca: An Associativity Model That Transforms Crises into Opportunities

Gremca, a palm sector company founded 45 years ago, emerged from a serious crisis three decades ago through an innovative associative model that integrates owners, workers, and suppliers. In this transition, employees became shareholders, achieving a balance between labor rights and participation in business management. This model, based on trust and consensus, has consolidated Gremca as a pioneer in the production of aviation biofuels, with global certification.

Currently, Gremca exports 50% of its production to markets such as the United States and Europe but faces the challenge of bud rot, a disease that has significantly reduced its efficiency and production. Faced with this scenario, the company is renewing its crops and seeking government support through soft loans to continue strengthening its associative model and preserve the sustainability of its operations.

Gremca’s model has not only generated positive economic results but has also been a tool for social cohesion in the communities where it operates, fostering shared prosperity. This approach has led Gremca to become a benchmark for the palm industry, demonstrating that innovation and collaboration can overcome any adversity.
